Diagnostic Services

Digital X-ray & Diagnostic Services for Dogs and Cats, Janesville WI

The most common diagnostics used at All Creatures Small Animal Hospital include imaging such as digital radiology, and laboratory testing which includes blood tests, urine analysis and fecal exams. During your pet’s first wellness exam, we may run some tests to establish baseline values for your pet

Digital X-rays provide Dr. McSweeny with fast results, as the digital format provides a more enhanced image and eliminates processing and development time required with traditional x-rays.  X-rays are very useful for diagnosing medical problems. If we feel a lump or mass in your pet’s abdomen, an X-ray can determine where the mass is located and can very often pinpoint the organ where the problem is occurring. A mass or foreign object in the stomach is often easily seen in an X-ray. If your pet is vomiting, an X-ray can reveal whether your pet has eaten string, stocks or a large part of his/her toy.

Digital X-rays help us evaluate skeletal, cardiopulmonary or chest x-ray, abdominal, reproductive, and urinary systems.  It is the perfect tool for OFA x-rays of the hips and elbows.

Dr. McSweeny uses only cesium digital x-ray plates. This ensures that your pet gets the best detailed “HD” x-rays and the lowest exposure.

Nothing could or should replace the attentive, professional, and compassionate care we offer during your pet’s veterinary exam. However, because many conditions cannot be diagnosed without the assistance of lab tests, at All Creatures Small Animal Hospital we like to support our tradition of hands-on medicine with the latest in full service, on site laboratory diagnostics.

Urinalysis to check for kidney and bladder health, blood tests for heartworm and tick borne diseases,  fecal analysis for the presence of parasites and giardia, plus complete blood chemistry and advanced diagnostics to determine the overall health of your pet can all be performed at All Creatures Small Animal Hospital.

Because our laboratory is on site, there is no waiting for test results. We are able to share the results of numerous tests with you in just minutes. That way, we can respond immediately if treatment is needed, and your pet will be on its way back to health.

Endoscopic procedures offer their patients less pain, minimal recovery time and fewer complications.
